Ghosting Rant (Respect Edition)

We get it, you were interested, and now you’re not. Nothing wrong with that. Happens all the time. But why can’t people just have the decency to say it? Why make someone figure it out on their own, leave them replaying messages, wondering if they said something wrong, checking their phone like it owes them closure.
When a new connection had you feeling good and then just dies, it stings. You tell yourself they’re just busy, you try to stay cool while your stomach knots itself in half. And then, just when you start to let go, they breadcrumb you back to life, just enough to keep you hanging.
It doesn’t have to be like that. You could take sixty seconds out of your oh-so-busy life and say, “Hey. You’re a great person, but this just isn’t the right fit. No hard feelings, wish you the best.”
That’s it. That’s all it takes. You’d earn respect instead of resentment. And both of you could walk away with your dignity intact.
